[Euro]stock wheels weight

hey...

does anybody know the stock wheels weight for the accord euro?

thanks,

roughly 9kg without tyres.

And just under 18kg with tyres.

Around 15kg per corner

Damn the stockies are heavy......

unsprung weight is quite important actually.

I remember if you reduce unsprung weight by 1kg is equal to reduce 5kg above the suspension.

It improves handling a lot. Also lighter wheels means slightly faster acceleration. Not by much though. hehe

You can not change any hp or torque by changing wheels or flywheel if you may. It justs makes it much more easy to accelerate. You will loose inertia though but the gains you get are more worth while.

Isn't the question power at the wheels? If the wheels are lighter and accelerate easier - the dyno would show more power right?

Seriously though, this is one of the most cost effective bang for your bucks upgrades you can do on a DC2R.
The difference is sharper acceleration in 1st, 2nd & 3rd, improved engine response & better engine braking...
On the track, this translates directly into reduced lap times.
All this, with no actual power gain or compromise to reliability.
Just more effective use of what you've already got.
Works well with either an OEM clutch or heavy duty item...
The H/D clutch obviously is more fun...
