My brand new car has done 1, 600 k so far, if i travel up to 2,000 k and then go for my free 1000 k service is that still ok? is it safe for the vehicle? or is it bad that i have traveled over the 1000 k without my first service?

Should really do your first service asap... the first oil/filter change is in place.. so that you change oil as soon as possible that may possibly have traces of metal from the newly run in engine soo that the little shavings dont do any damage to the engine.
Other reason for the first service, is just to make sure the car is running properly.. all lines and hoses and stuff are usually checked for leaks to make sure the car is running in top order..
With that said, my mate who brought a new lancer, never did his 1st service @ 1000k untill about 5000k.. But if you ask me.. i would have changed the oil/filter way before the 1000k mark.
the service is free. just drop the car off, only takes about half the day ?
once again... great advice above
it's not going to cause you major dramas, but drop it in so they can do a post delivery check of the car and engine, and also replace your oil
generally speaking your 1000km service is a courtesy service. and does not include an oil change it is basically like a pre delivery inspection or a minor service without the oil change. so yes it is safe to travel past it.
it wouldnt be free if it actually cost the dealerships money would it. but for your peace of mind you could ask them to change the oil. it doesnt hurt to always have fresh oil in your engine
do you work for a dealership mate?
not anymore private workshop now but yeah i have worked for 2 dealerships
That sounds kinda stupid. So a dealership won't fork out $50 out of there own pocket for a "to be safe" oil change but they fork out a brand new engine or brand new car for you when it fcuks up cos they just didnt feel like they needed to waste $50 but instead waste $20 000 or more for another car ?
yeah that doesn't sound right..
My dad had his 1000km service on his XR6, they did an oil filter and oil change (Complementry service), checked everything was in working order and thats it.
yeah im pretty sure the oil is changed, but not quite sure.
So would i have done damage to my engine as i speak considering i have missed my 1000 k service by quite a bit, or will my engine be completely normal and safe, and just go for my 1000 k service asap?
Just worried that i have done some damage to my vehicle/engine by missing my 1000 k service by quite a bit???
Hm.. not sure about honda but with mazda, @ 1000km, they don't change the oil. They just do a few checks to make sure the car is running alrite and send you away.
That being said, i still changed my oil + filter @ 1000km
you definately have to pay for new oil at the 1000km service...
they check everything else for free.
hey migoreng, so Honda dealerships don't change the oil at the 1000 k service?
only if its been requested by the vehicle owner?
