been doing some research and have come to the conclusion that prices for;
-b18c7 100k kms = $5-6k
-k20z (type s) 80k kms = 10k
are these prices correct (not including installation)
cheers

Yeah sounds about right, but from my understanding it will be ALOT more to install a k-motor then a B-series motor. But if you got the doosh, i think i speak for everyone when i say...K-series it up!
i have a jdm k20a for 7k
mm honda stuff is very expensive, try and squeeze in another engine some how, like sr20 or something, do something bizzare and different ;) lol
you can get a decent k swap setup for around 13k these days :) its worth it
The minute you pay for a K, your already loosing money
better off finding a car with k swap already if u really want a k series motor
You don't see many ppl keeping there car that long after a k swap
Golan has k20r for $7k. Offer him $6k + BJ i think is good deal.
What. The. F ck.
sr20?
Where do you live so I can smack you out. Literally.
sr20 is the sh ttest motor.
Dont try defend the SR. 2.0L DOHC injected. Munches fuel. And produces the same power as a SOHC vtec d16y engine.
Chain driven engine with 3 different tensioner roller designs. For the same engine. And they all still rattle over time.
Square motor meaning the bore and stroke is the same. Which means, not alot of engineering went into it.
Longer stroke = better down low torque.
Shorter stroke = higher revving.
Square = In the middle.
Ill stop there. I cbf bagging out the SR.
As to OP.
Go B series if you have a budget. Its cheaper on parts. And alot of aftermarket support. With less hassles.
Mate i run a f.kn b series engine you f.k. SR20 is something different and you can buy them turbo for cheap, and from there you can do more.
show some respect. its an idea mate.
in case you didn't read what i wrote on the end, do something bizzare and different.
just because its a honda forum doesn't mean you have to bag everything else.
Imagin what people would think when you pop the bonnet and there like 'oh shit'
and there not a bad engine mate, huge amounts of power can be made from them. a lot more then what a sohc vtec engine.
leave it.
alright this is about fun not trying to prove people wrong and how smart you can be by abusing them and shit.
alright i'm in montmorency, smack me out mate, let me know where and when and i'm sure you won't be doing the smacking mate.
keep the Honda motors in a Honda and Nissan motors in a Nissan. Anyone whos done a Sr20 Honda is just going backwards
there will be a huge amount of people who would say 'oh shit' and more people saying after oh shit, 'how dumb is he'
feel free to prove me wrong and do it. :)
how dumb? wouldn't they think, whooow how did he do that. its only the absolute honda finatics that will b like 'how dumb is he'
i do agree with the keep honda nissan blah blah.
but its good for your money and i'll tell you, if some guy in an rg civic rocked up and popped his bonnet and i saw it.
i think i'd b speechless, i'd reakon that would be mint.
Back to topic. out of the 2 engines k20 would cost a lot more to do but would be pretty quick.
b18c7 is a top engine aswell. both powerful.
if i had the choice and money wasn't a problem it would be the k20 for me.
but the thing is we live in a world were money is all the problem, so in reality i think i'd go the b18c7 because its a quick fit with minimal work for me.
