car shaking issue

hey guys .. im new to the forum newaiiz my car shakes like f**k when im at a stand still or in traffic but when i take off it goes away .. any ideas whats wrong with my car? btw its an 01 if that helps

when i turn on the car the whole car shakes until i take off and at a stand still .. at times in traffic it wouldnt rattle as hard .. i found out its not an engine mount and also my car idles on 1000rpm .. could it possibly be that my wheels are imbalanced?

It wont be your wheels.. Your not moving.. So arent your wheels.. :S
I dont understand.. Does it shake..? Or does it rattle.. When i say rattle i mean can you hear 'rattling' (can you hear metal on metal)...
And how do you know its no engine mounts..
Does the car feel like dying when its shaking..?

does the car stall while shaking? is there any smoke from the exhaust pipes or a bad smell in the air?

it could be a number of things

could be engine/gearbox mounts, which is what i say it is.
the engine could be un-balanced, has your engine ever been opened? ie head taken off or timing chain etc.?
your idle could be too low, although it seems ok.

id be going to a mechanic with it straight away.!

^^^ My car idles @ 800-850rpm - so I don't think at 1000rpm that it's too low.

Shaking on idle would mostly likely be your mounts, either being split open or loose.. Get it under a hoist and inspect all the mounts from the underside, saves you alot of time and you will know if they are worn out etc.. For engine mounts, if you see wet marks etc, they're busted. Look out for cracks etc.

I'd say it's drivetrain related. But don't count on it, i'm just giving you my e-opinion. lol Get it checked out by a reputable mech if all else fails.

my bad it shakes not rattle .. doesnt stall when idling .. i dont think its engine mount coz a friend of mine told me to put the handbrake up and checked to see whether the engine moved whilst i slowly let go of the clutch and thers no smoke out of the exhaust or any unusual smell .. another friend of mine (jai my babii) haha .. says ive got one rusted engine mount . could that be the issue and should i b gettin that fixed asap?

get engine mount replaced its pretty common on hondas for some reason.

get a engine dampener to save your mounts too
