If possible just save and buy the real thing??
oh, can u buy a fd2 is aust? how much to they go for?
Civic Sport is FD2. I used to have one. One more thing you should be wary of before purchasing these cars are that they are an EXTREMELY big f&*k to modify performance wise. The only things you can do is an exhaust with headers and intake. And it uses electrical wires to control throttle, so there isnt a throttle cable. So an engine conversion is out of the question if not extremely hard and cost you a bucket of money. This is why I sold mine. But if you wanna just do it for looks then go for it.
Useful info? Rep me.
hahahaha v8kllr, you'll get there soon. Why'd uget neg repd for anyway?
anyway, the Fd1 and Fd2 are good for daily drives, but not really performance. If this is ur mrs car, why do u want a kit and coils on it anyway? I doubt she wants to put up with an annoying low ride that scrapes everything and damages the kit.. (but that's just my opinion, you don't ahve to listen to me)
I'd say just get the VTi if u want something to roll in, and if u want more features go the sport..
Curtis is headed in the right direction. Plus the fd didnt come out as a sports car and is stronger in the field of looks imo. If you want sunroof, leather seats, better stock rims etc, then go sport but if you wanna save some cash, go vti as i dont think it has much difference performance wise and will probably save you on fuel as well.
The last tank I did was 566.5 with 2 litres left in the tank lol 100% city driving so I think economy wise either is good. I'd say if you want performance don't get an FD like v8kllr mentions they're a bizznitch to modify and short of getting a really expensive turbo kit you're better off getting something else. But if you're keen on the looks department man I love looking at FDs. They don't even need a kit to look nice just lowered on hot wheels. If you're gonna get an FD cos you like FD's get the Sport. Too many good features to miss out on if you get the Vti.
Saddest thing is inaudible VTEC.
the only things you would get a sport for is:
1. leather seats,
2. a sunroof,
3. indicators on the windows (if you like that better)
4. nicer stock rims,
5. exhaust tips ( or $80 for aftermarket ones - SRS Auto)
6. 2L engine - which doesn't make it faster, since the car is heavier than the vti - they accelerate around the same.
7. flappy paddle gearchangers if you're a retard at manual or prefer that to standard auto.
as xenon said mentioned a few above, except for 1 and 2, the rest really makes no difference or is going to be something you'd replace anyways if you're modding the car (ie. rims, exhaust)
I'd buy the sport still for some reason. 16500 is cheap for a sport, and I'd prefer leather and a sunroof ^^
ofcourse the choice is yours
i have got my FD2 Sport few month ago....
well, i had ur situation at that time too....whether go for vti or sport...
but i like the leather seat, the indicator on side mirror, 17" rims, sunroof
and personally, the engine 'looks' nicer...
(only looks nicer when u open the bonnet...i mean, the parts under the bonnet look tidy and nice when u open up the bonnet....)
i do love the leather seats, and sunroof....and that is no way i can get these in vti unless i go buying a new one and putting special request over those accessaries....
leather seats, can still be installed at a cost of around $4K, (told by Honda)
but sunroof...there is no way u can buy an aftermarket.....
BUT....now, i dont really like my FD2.....the fuel consumption is very bad.....
and....there is not much power over the engine......
very loud engine noise.........
yet....the appearance of the Sport is really nice....
ultimately, apart from the 'power' wise.....i like my FD2.......
