Keyless Entry Problem

sorry but i have read thru th forum and couldn't find the same problem.
i have a Honda Accord VTi 1998 and the remote keyless entry has stop working....ive changed the battery on both the remote and tried to reprogram but doesnt seem to be responding. I can use the key in the door and the central locking works. I've taken it to a honda dealer they said i was probaly a problem with central processing unit or some crap and just flogged me off (they couldnt be bothered) and told me it would be $3000 to replace. Any how i talked to a auto sparky he said i might be able to hook up a alarm system with keyless entry but was not sure about the immobiliser.
well anyway any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

You could always go wreckers and go find your self another central processing unit. Then just reprogram it again but going after market immobilizer/alarm system will be the best solution because it save you money.
