Hey guys new to the forums and thought id post this question as i couldn't find it (probably wasnt looking hard enough but also wanted personal experiences).
Thinking about getting a s2000 later on this year but from what I have read from other useful posts is the S tends to get a lil tail happy in the wet. Living down in Tas and we do tend to get a fair bit of rain I was just wondering if you guys could recommend any good dry/wet weather tires.
any info would be great thanks.
RE050 one of my favorite tyres in the wet :).
Any rwd car is tail happy in the wet you just have to drive sensibly if you don't want to do some skidzzz :P
Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 are really good for the wet, and pretty good in the dry, and they have a nice looking tread pattern to boot :)
but as above drive sensibly, keep the tread levels up, and you should be fine
im running ad08s and they are awesome in the wet :D
Thanks for the info so far guys its been pretty useful just wondering how long those tires seem to last for each of ya. Thought the first thing that might need replacing after i buy the car would be tires as Im more into the handling side of things than RAW POWER!!! =)

ha ha yeh any car can become tail happy in the wet just from the posts i read it sounded like a major issue. O and dont worry i wont be driving hard and fast when i get the car i'll probably be driving like an old granny for about a month. Previous car was a 93' hyundai excel while it wasn't powerful i learnt lots from it just a shame someone crashed into it -_- now looking for a new car sooner than i was hoping but the accident leaves me money to buy A future S2k.

umm well im actualy on my first set of ad08s...lol so i cant tell you from personal experience but i read that a guy got 20,000km off a set and 1 track day...dunno if its true tho. lol ill let you know when mine go :P

My last set of tyres were Yokohama Advan V103s. Great road tyre. They lasted over 30,000km, although I remember from about 25,000km - despite having some tread - they were rock hard and mountain runs became... more interesting.
I am currently michillin pilot sport 3 and am extremely happy with the grip in the wet. We had heavy rain about a month ago here in Melbourne and was still able to feel grounded at speeds of excess of 140km/h. I find it doesnt take long to build heat in the tires which isn't really a concern because I don't usually leave the house like a bat out of hell because I like the whole car to warm up a bit first before pushing it. They r a bit pricey as a set I bought my 4 for $900

AD08 FTW. Grippier in the wet than the RE050A that they replaced. I wanted the RE11 but they were hard to get on short notice.Quote:

I prefer the RE050 to my RE11 in the wet only.

When they were new :D (they still are new only done....600km on them lol)
