Can you put a 12000K globe in to a 6000K ballast? Or vice versa? If so what what results should you expect?
Pretty sure if you put the 12000K globe into the 6000k ballast it would only push 6000K power through the hid, or it wont work at all. Would most likely be the same as a 6000K, but isnt anything over 8000K illegal?
You'll get stupid 12000K purple glare. Please have some consideration for other drivers on the road.
6000k is best over all imo
HID's are no problem when properly adjusted.
Think of the ballast as a amplifier... It doesnt matter what bulb you put in, the power will still be the same
The 6000k, 8000k etc etc is just the bulb temp as pointed out, even though ur eyes might see 8000k stronger than 6000k, in reality there both use the same power an create the same amount of lighting
Hids are all illegal LOL my hids is 8,000k and i adjust the globe to like '2' on the adjusting button near the driver seat
