H22a Ek?!
Hi i m just a newbie here so plz help me out
recently i just got a 98 prelude H22A engine off my friend. it is an automatic one and i m thinking about changing it to manual and put it into my 96 Civic Hatch.
i've been hearing alot of good stuff about that what it will like after i put it in but i just havent really heard of anything on the negative side.
so could you guys tell me what will go wrong after i do the conversion?
any places you know that would do a good conversion? (In Brisbane)
yea anyway couldnt really think of too much to ask so plz tell me anything thats on your mind and i will be really appreciate it :)

your front end will become a lot heavier, and therefor make cornering and steering worse.
-
Charlies motors have done the conversion from late 'lude to an early 'lude. That's jus about all i can think of, there's a few Eg's getting around Brissy with this conversion...

Read Here
Cons
- Its not a bolt on swap
- Youll probably have to cut some holes in your car
- Your AC is probably going to get the ass
- Mounts
- Wiring
- Other crap
Pros
- 2.2lt civic :D
-
i wouldnt do that if i was you...as stated earlier..balance will be uneven..the front end of the car will be heavier all around..and steering will be a crap...your better off looking for something lighter...h22a engines are not meant to be put into a civic

Hey i'm wanting to put the H22a in my EG sedan and eventually turbo it. I'm also in brisbane. Is it worth the trouble and $$$?

that link show's some well worthy pro's lol! but expense seems the main con lol...
*you can stroke an h22a to a 2.6 liter
*i have seen 20 psi h22a's with 600 wheel horse power
Thats insane...

heavier.. what the?.. we are only talking maybe 20kg..
-
not just weight, but centre of gravity and a whole lot of other things are altered here, causing all sorts of understeer and just general front heavy driving
-
plus 60 pounds is actually over 27kg. And thats compared to a B18 too, not just what im guessing may be a D16Y? So it is a fair bit more weight if you think about it
-
sorry for another reply, but then to turbo it too would be putting on a few more kg too, which im guessing he'd do eventually
