MDX Torque Converter

Hi guys, newbie here so go easy; did a search but couldn't come up with any answers.

Has anyone had any issues with their MDX torque converter, had it or the AT replaced.
I ask because I have just recently bought our 7 seater MDX which we thought the perfect mix of space, offroadability and affordability at the time. I'm not so sure now as we have heard a shuddering noise when coasting at 60 k/hr over the last couple of days not so disimilar to these threads here and here. It's amazing how many people have these issues, and there only the people who can be bothered to a, use the internet, b, actually post online. I just can't find any information regarding anyone in Australia with this issue or how to go about remedying it/lobbying Honda Australia. It is under 3 month warranty and the dealer is going to speak with Honda, armed with the service bulletin which I found here.

Personally I'd rather go to the dealer myself as I've read too many stories of dealers just saying that they've never heard of the problem, can't replicate the issue etc etc. We love this car but were kinda banking on the fact that Honda was synonomous with quality build...

Anyone else have any experience with this or similar TC issues.

You're right; after reading that it does seem they are an issue, even after having them replaced what's to say the new tranny will last any longer than 30,000K. It looks like I'll need to take extra care using the correct ATF and budget for a tranny repair every so often...:thumbdwn:

Apparently car dealer spoke with Honda today and they are going to look at the car tomorrow;
Put it on their analyser and see what red flags come up.
However, they mention that this problem does not affect this car as the ones in Australia are different to the ones in America/Canada. I find this hard to believe as the parts would come with the same programming from the same factory in Japan.
I also wonder if they will reprogram the PCM as it states in the service bulletin, or even replace the torque converter if the shuddering does occur. However, our dealer and apparently the honda dealer seem quite helpful so far (i guess it's coz we're still only one week into the 3 month car dealer warranty).

I'll update when I find out more.

Not an issue with Australia... Pfft.

Thats because theres less cars sold here, have a look on the euro sub-forum, quiet a few people are starting to have those kind of problems.

IT is the same transmission, same design and same parts, same factory, just because they drive on the opposite side of the road doesnt really mean anything IMO.
