It's VTEC..
Why was a new engine put in? What was it? Need for information..
I suggest you look up the ECU code and go from there.

What engine did you put into your DC5?
K20A2, K20Z, K24A3?
The scanner should of told you what you got the CEL for anyways.
my original k20a2 engine blew up so i replaced it with another one. car runs fine but just doesnt have any vtec. im spewingg

Did you check your CEL? Could be many reasons
it said it was a vtec error but i didnt get the exact code.
