Civic bad fuel economy..
Hey guys ! I've purchased a civic fd1 earlier this year and i've recently noticed that my fuel economy has declined dramatically over the past couple of weeks. Im averaging about 350km's in a single tank, i occasionally vtec here and there but that shouldnt explain the high fuel consumption. Could it be the oxygen sensor that need replacing ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

o2 sensor is common fix. also check ur air filter in the intake box.. if thats dirty and clogged up ur fuel consumption gets raped
-
Different fuel going in?
Due for a service even?

Filled up with 98 when i first got the car, but didnt find it necessary to use premium fuel in an average family car. I've stuck with 91 since than and got roughly 500-550kms (average).
Theres still about 3000kms before my next service.. Is it possible to DIY the oxygen sensor?? as i know Honda charge a shitload $$$ for their services

No reason not to use 98 in a family car.
Even though its more expensive, you generally get more kms per litre, because its a cleaner, better burning fuel.
As the for economy, common things to look at are oxygen sensor, air filter, and oil.

O2 sensor is easily replaced. Simply unscrew and disconnect

yeea check tyre pressure, tunee up your car, avoid giving your mate a lift ( this can be categoriseed as unneccessary carring heavy load which mean extra fuel needed)

im having a highrev when using a 91ron..

Fitting an exhaust system with too large a diameter will also half your mileage.

Lies, a larger exhaust not only increases torque, horsepower, and fuel economy, but also makes you look like a mad dawg when your cruisin' through the 'burbs in your race car yo!
