i was cleaning my car today

All I can say is "that looks bad" :(
cause I'm not sure which part of the car it is. :oops:
thats the drive shaft boot... it happens through wear and tear.. nothing too drastic..
take it to a mech and get it replaced... the part would only cost $50 if that... and labour maybe another $50..
thats the outer CV boot. get it replaces ASAP before u damage your driveshafts.
yes this happens very quickly when u lower ur car heaps, its normal for it to happen. i have to replacee mine wihtin next 2 months before it splits as well.
the parts cost about 25bux form repco, labour for someone to do it will cost about 50 each side.
where exactly are they located??.... mite check :P
I'm surprised that nobody has pointed out that now with the boot split, dirt and grime has entered the CV joint.
Which means you have to clean all that crap out and put some new grease. Not as simple as just changing the boot.

thats right wyn, but the grease comes with the boot anyway so its kinda common sense i'd say
