Use an automotive relay, connect the coil of the relay to your ECU. Depending on what signal the ECU provides you either ground or power the other side of the coil. Then connect the VTEC solenoid to COM of the relay, then connect NO of the relay to 12v
correct me if im wrong - got a mate "James" trying to do the same thing...
on an EMS or Microtec .. to hook up the VTEC must be on the AUX of these ECU's right? then you program the ECU/software to utilize the activation of the vtec.
all depends on the sink voltage and current of the output used
you need at least +12v 3A to be safe, otherwise you should use a relay or some other semiconductor switching circuit
you need to know the specs of the ECU outputs
what about the phrase 1 wire vtec. would that help here.
not sure what you mean, VTS is 1 wire only, however outputs on an EMS can drive a solenoid or only a relay, this needs to be checked otherwise you will damage the ECU.
They could also be strapped to provide battery voltage or a ground signal when they trigger.
This driving me mad. Jim from Online Performace might try relay my vtec. and also got to re-dyno tune
