Machining head

Ok chaps, quickie.....

Can i machine the head flat with the cams/cam shaft/ lost motion assembly still in the head?

Or do i need to pull them out?

Im half way through pulling the cylinder head off... an hadnt considered this till now.....

Id rather keep the head as one unit so when it comes to re installing the head, less headaches with lining up timing an all lol

i was under the impression head goes bare to machine shop. I've always done this in the past.

Ive always sent the head to my guy complete....he strips, machines and re assembles...
Just gotta re check.amd do valve clearences once it bak on the block...
