Tips to improve throttle response/delay

Hi guys,
I got my cl9 6mt recently and have been loving it apart from the annoying throttle lag. I've even done the ecu reflash but I notice that there is still a noticeable delay when revving the engine. People claim that the reflash gets rid of the lag so I'm just wondering whether there is something else at play which could be causing the delay. The car also came with an Injen cold air intake from the previous owner so I'm not sure whether that could be causing the delay. Its an '08 model MY07 lux if that matters. Thanks for your input :)

Clean the carbon deposits from where the valve seats by squirting water into the intake then adjust the valves when the engine is cold.

Make the car lighter.

Unsure on the cold air intake (I'm a civic guy...) but am interested in what the accord owners say.

The car was DBW (drive by wire)

So it's electronic throttle. The lag is programmed into the ecu.

Without a reflash/reprograming the ecu the best you could do is a electronic throttle controller, where it "amplifies" the throttle signal to the ecu... It'll cost a bit tho.

Thanks for the reply :) I got the littlebo ecu reflash done but theres still lag. I'll give the engine bay a good cleanup and adjust the valve seats like beeza mentioned. Hopefully that might give some good results. Shame bcos i really thought reflash would fix it. :(

Can't hurt doing the valves but does sound like it's an inherent problem.

A lighter fly wheel if available may help.

DBW cars can have their throttle pedal tuned.

For example one of the maps on my car 50% of pedal = 100% @ throttle body.

Its an expensive route, but if your gonna keep the car for a long time a tune is best solution. You might make most of it back in fuel economy if kept long enough and enjoy other benefits like better driveability.

If you have the dosh to spend, I'd get the usual I/H/E before the tune.

Check your throttle cable to make sure it's not loose.

Its the cable between the pedals and the App sensor in the engine bay

Screw for adjustment is within the box for the app sensor
