CAI in my Civic

Hey everyone, i bought myself a short ram intake for my civic not long ago, but i am looking at making it to the complete CAI kit.. when i removed the air box i saw a whole infront of my right wheel arch.. there was sufficient room for a 3inch pipe to fit down.. but when i removed my front bumper i saw this big white box sitting there that had 2 pipes stemming from it... i think this is the resonator?? the bolts are on so bloody tight i couldnt take them off... any suggestions if this would be the best place to make it a CAI ???
and do you think i could use a rattle gun to take the bolts off???

this would have been covered in the Articles/Review section..

the white box IS ur resonator, and it does come off..
most aftermarket CAIs require you to remove your resonator, so the piping can go down to your front bumper..

what does that resonator do?
i took mine off to fit my cai, and the whitebox doesnt look like it does anything!!

resonators are used to either increase or decrease sound..
but in a car's instance, the waves in the intake sound cancel each other out making the sound less audible :p

notice how your intake sound volume dramatically increased once you removed it ?

Yeah move the white box. shove the filter down then and step on the gas!!! it sound fantastic. i have a CAI system in my EK1 even its not Vtec still sounds mADDDDDDDDD

Cvik_ryda did you notice any difference in power?? Was the car revving out smoother and easier?

At the moment my pod is sitting in my engine bay... i hope it will make a difference once its in the place of the resonator. Oh and about hydrolock, I'm concerned about that... is there a chance my car could suffer from this once the pod is in the place of the resonator?????

nah.. shouldn't be too much of a problem, unless u tend to drive through puddles when it rains..
