What is a spoon engine?

I was talking to a friend.
And he asked me if I knew what a spoon engine is, and I'll be honest I have never researched this, but I just told him that it's a Honda engine with all spoon parts on, like cams, headers, intake manifolds, internals exhaust etc.
He said I was wrong, he told me a spoon engine is when they change the way the fuel is sprayed into the cylinders, creating some sort of a swirling effect.
Now, I know this guy knows more than me about cars so I didn't wanna say it doesn't sound right, can you guys enlighten me??

Your friend sounds like a twat mate. I would assume a Spoon engine is a fully built crate motor with all Spoon parts throughout.

yea, what spoon is all about is getting a factory made Honda engine, and refining those parts.

Someone told me it's 12k brand new shipped from Spoon? Not sure maybe it's just a bullshit

12K seems unbelievably cheap. I know a guy who bought a JUN SR20DET and it cost him over 60K, that's just for the engine, no turbo or anything. Spoon parts are damn pricey so I would assume the engine would be atleast 40K.

spoon motor is an engine assembled at the spoon factory in japan with all there goodies in it. you can have an engine and put all spoons products on there , people wont consider it to be a spoon motor. ill let u in on a secrect alot of spoon parts are balanced OEM honda items.
