Just wondering how many k's is too many for these cars?
The one i'm looking at has done 180,000 however it's just had a major service and the timing belt replaced. It's a manual.
I'm gonna go have a look at it in the next few days so anything I should know or look out for?
94-- das about right- get it inspected if u are nsure of what to look for :P
check fo basic leaks, lighting, previos crashes, alignment of joints (doors, hoods etc) if it goes well. etc- it is a grand car to drive :)
Yeah just get it checked out properly. If it's been maintained it will last for ages.
My 94 accord has 196,xxx k's and she still goes hard. I bought it with 169,xxx km's on the clock a couple years ago and have had no major problems.

For a piece of mind, you can have it inspected by your local RAC or a mechanic versed in Hondas...

From what i've heard they are pretty reliable engines, and the timing belt is the main thing which should be replaced at close to 200,000kms.
Gonna go check it out, will let you know how i go :)
The guy sounds really dodgy about the car
1. He won't let me take it to my mechanic for a check
2. He won't let me get an RACV inspection
3. He refuses to get a RWC
4. He wouldn't give me his landline #
5. He said it was insured for $13,000 then he said it wasn't insured at all
6. Has new plates because he took off his personalised ones (could be true)
7. He's asking $9000 but said he would take $7500
8. He needs to get rid of it by Friday morning
Very dodgy indeed. Oh well, keep looking for others i suppose :)
do a revs check, if it comes up clean then go for it. but yeah, sounds a bit dodge, plany of other ones out there to buy.
sounds dodgy, you should be able to find one with lower kms for a reasonable price which may save you in the long run. But if they are serviced properly then you shouldnt have any problems with those sort of kms.

U have n e friends that r mechanics. Bring them along for another look. 7500 is very good for a vti-s even if the engine is pritty dodgy, Cuz it would cost me around 1500 to get a new or another engine. But yeah this guy is sus, So get down his plates no. and theres this no, u call to c if the vechile is stolen and been in crashes n all, Forgot the no,
But u would b looking at pritty high kms, I know sum ppl get it real low kms but thats just bull. Ur buying a 11yr old car. Each yr easy around driving 20,000kms+ x that by 11 give u 220,00kms. So when its down pritty low like 170 they wind it down 4 sure, Even my unlce can wind it down and his not even a mechanic.
So just look at the interior i reckon, Engine is still driveable then its alrite for now then just put in the extra 1k to get it recondtion. If i saw that for 7500 i would of got it for sure but i got one for 6100 but just vti but 216kms which where it should b.
