hey, im pretty new to all this engine swap stuff
i got a 93 civic gli with the d15 in it.
the engine i want to get is the b18.
the thing is i dont know what is what...the c7, the c2, the c1...
what is the best engine to put in. i dont hae to much money to spend so i wouldnt mind the cheaper one, as long as it is ok.
Where is the best place to get a half cut from ...do i have to get them imported and if so where can i find someone to import them for me.

Last thing is that i have the d series engine and i wanna put the b series engine in...wot work do i have to do to my civic b4 i can put it in and wot things will i need to do to my car. And wot will i get in a half cut.

c7 = type R
c2 = VTIR
c1 = GSR ? (import ?)

firstly, if you have the money, definitely go the type R..
will you be boosting it later on ?

where abouts are you located, there's a sticky on this forum showing wreckers in different states.. and no, you don't have to get them imported as there are AUDM type R and VTIRs..

having an EG civic, you'll need new/custom mounts for the new bseries engine, plus i recommend changing ur rear drums for discs, just to be safe..

and in a half cut (front cut), you pretty much get everything that's in the front half ?

and in the end, what's your budget.. as the b18's are pretty hefty..

B18C - Type R engine

ie. C7 - Australia

i did do a search, there was a lot of stuff, but didnt make sence and i needed it all put together

what's ur budget, then we can recommend you stuff..

i have a b18 in my eg hatch. was fun to fit :thumbdwn:

awww you can most likely find one on aussie shores for a song, or maybe even one that has had a rebuild and has some good internals in it. stock stuff isnt the strongest.

import is a last resort, there is more than enough of these motors and parts floating around, and plenty of information about the conversions available.

half cuts are a good idea, but u can always shop around mate, look on internet forums, trading post, wreckers, or car auctions. cars that are impounded can be auctioned off. and alot of these jap cars are the victims (cos of idiot drivers) of impounds.

i paid all up about 8,000 for my engine, gear box, mounts, and some other bits and pieces incl. having it fitted. which was at mates rates. can prolly find places about the same price. but ive had enough of fast cars, it is too easy to get into trouble now. is this your first car or are u still a p plater, cos it is probably a good idea to shy away from engine mods till your a little older and experienced. id worry about doing stuff like stereos, kits, wheels, suspension interior. cos once u start playing in the engine bay it goes down hill along with your bank account

b18c (jdm type R or siR , both share same engine code without the single digit at theback, tell the different from the intakemanifold and head code)

b18c7 (aust spec dc2 type R motor)

b18c5 (usa spec low comp dc2 type R motor)
