my question WHY?????????????????????
1. Will give you quicker acceleration at a sacrifice of top speed
2. You need to get a final drive set and change the countershaft and ring gear on your differential
3. If you can get it for your GSi......then go for it!
i rather get an LSD
the "final drive" is the final gear/cog before power is applied to the differential , and thus the driveshafts and then to the wheels.
lowering this ration will lower your gearing and give quicker acceleration AFAIK.
expensive for a custom setup tho ?!?
would lsd help much? i know kaaz do one for my car for around $400, worth it?
Anyone know someone from Adelaide who could deal with diff. on a teg?
400 dam if its that cheap ill do my next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can i get it in PERTH
Most probably because you have NFI what an increased final drive will really do.Quote:

thanks 4 the help guys, will get in touch with my drive-train guy and talk it out!
I'd rather lower final drive, since when will i be going up to 200 ?
plus vtir vs type R (the two that i know of) the type R only starts beating the vtir when it's at about 90klms. From my observations this is only due to the fact that when the vtir when at 80 is in 2nd, the type R is in 3rd? ...
i donno i'm no expert
Lower final drive will be affect your max. speed in each gear. If you go 200+km/hr offen, not recommend.
Lower final drive will increase your accelaration in each gear. It will affect your fuel economy. If you drive sport car and care the fuel economy, not recommend. I heard one civic vtir with ATS 4.929 final drive, he can drive around 430-480km each tank on the street. Not on track or in mountain.
