hi there, im a newbie to this engine swap thing... just need a few opinions. would some1 be able to help me on how this hybrid (jdm b18cr in eg) performs (1/4 mile time), like in stock form with maybe a catback and cai. reason is i am looking to do the swap. and will it be possible to fit it in a EG civic, the GL model with 1.5L carby motor. i think the engine mounts are the same just the wiring confused me. and roughly how much is a 98 jdm b18cR half cut is worth these days. cheers guys!
-
Yes it will fit and let me say that the car will be a little rocket. Why do you want a JDM B18C though? Just get one here in Aus, should be cheaper.
Price wise, you are looking at about $6-8k for a half-cut. Apparently someone on this forum knew a place that can get them for $5k but i forgot who or where it was.
Have you had any quotes yet for the B18C?
-
hmmmm.. I got my h22a halfcut for 3.2k
-
vely vely cheeff! H22A! hahaha jks
so where bouts r u Geek?
-

geek is in qld :D....
b18's are generally more expensive if they are taken from the dc2r... it will fit in the eg but you will need some custom work done.
-
You will need heaps of custom work.
Where are you located? i might have someone that can help you out if you are in sydney.
-
thanx alot guys! much appreciated... if i tried asking that question on honda-tech i will defintely get flamed :P
i got a quote already for a 98 JDM b18c dc2R half cut with headlight bonnet and everything for $7000
will it b cheaper to get local b18cR?
is the JDM b18cR more power than aus b18cr?
-
jsut buy a JDM one... so u can say i got JDM mate!!!
-
the mounts fit, the wiring loom fits, if anything hes gona have a harder time getting PGMFI and converting the swap to obdI. JDM b18c-R is a lot better than the oz counterpart: higher compression, better tranny and if it comes with the headlights you can do a conversion on your egg. Go jdm! the japs always keep the best for themselves :D PM me if you wanna have a chat gl
