Good luck finding a cheap obd2 ecu in Australia, people ask too much for them, you can get them from the US for $200 + shipping :)

thanks for that mate
so basically any ek's?
iv got lots of OBD2a and OBD2b ECU’s if ya need one there completely useless to me... or anyone unless your stock ECU goes bang... even then the immobilizer function on the ECU stops you from using them in other cars due to the keys needing to match….
Regards James
ok i've sourced an OBD2 ecu from an 98 ek manual, does anyone know if this will suit a d16y8?
Why do you want to swap and obd1 ecu for an obd2..?
doing an engine swap and sourcing parts for it
the engine will be OBD2 so...
d16y8 is obd1 isn't it?
I think..
oh, it is?
I thought it was it was OBD2, comes from a vti coupe....
Maybe im thinking of the civic si engine then, sorry mate :D
You may be able to source a cable conversion harness, although the majority I have seen are OBDII to OBDI.
At least running a conversion harness you know your ECU works perfectly fine!
yeh i've been told that OBD1 and OBD2 harnesses will work together without conversion
anyone know how much they are for OBD1?
i will call around some wreckers tomorrow tho...
