B16 Turbo'd

hey ive been looking round honda-tech and talking to people from OzHonda with turbo B series in general and they seam to make good power in stock form with just a good turbo e.g. (QUOTE from honda-tech) I had one of the cheap SSAC 57 trim turbos on my car last summer.. Stock b16 tuned with uberdata and i made 241whp and 167 ft/lbs... (CLOSE QUOTE) what are these SSAC turbos i hear about i hear they are crap not worth spending the money on?? i cant belive the power they make in stock form. i know they would be running the obious i.e. injectors,pump maybe,fuel pressure reg,FMIC,exuast and air filter just seams weird to make that much power in stock form. just intrested in your thoughts.

SSAC is a company that makes by far the shittiest products ever. There's no reason you couldn't make that kind of power with any other comparable trimmed turbo. 167ft lbs is actually quite low. I've set up a few b16 turbos running about that much hp with 30 more ft lbs or so, on stock internals, with some room to go.

so its like Autotechnica "TRYING" to make turbo's??

bro dun bother wif that shit.....get some quality garrett gear or HKS if you got the cash. I know that the cheap prices but your better off gettin quility gear.

yeah i would only get good quality gear anyway just wondering what they were.

well i looked in to it before i brought all my stuf......a place called too fast too furious performance was trying to sell it too me , it was a full kit inc cooler , turbo , pipes and manifold ect. he only was charging $2000 for it , cheap as chips but i looked it up on other forums asnd saw all the touble other people were having with seized turbos wheels , blown seals and worst of all blown engine due to boost creep by the shitty waistgate.
just look it up in a search engine and youll see what i mean.... ssac also go by xs-power and some othere names as well. doooodgey!

yeh im not looking for a kit at all. i have some conections thats what happens when you work in the indrustry.

those are pretty expensive they are around the 800+ mark

yeh so is any custom made manifold. otherwise i can get a mate to make a stempipe manifold up for nothing he has made one for his car its a good manifold not log type.

Not saying any of their other products are good, however, I have had excellent results using their tial style wastegate :)
