hey im wonering which would be a better option as i can pick up a H22a for $2k right now if i want it i know i will need mounts for it but what are the cons of the H over the B. in the next few months i will eventualy bolt a turbo onto it my mate says ill have more power over the B but i just wanna know wot the diffrences are and what experince you people have had cos i know there are a few people with turbo'd B's.

This topic has been covered so many times. The H has more power, torque and weight. Don't know what sort of other differences you're after
from memory i researched that there is some custom work required to get the H engine to fit properly, and i think custom drive shafts were required also?
If your interested, there is a B-2-H adapter for the gearbox available somewhere in the states, which is suppost to help things out a fair bit.
i say try and get a b18 in there.... more torque than the b16, easier fit than the H22 :D
you got hassels for fitment and then different box
i wouldnt go the b16 but look at the b18 option or even the b20
its the same bolt up at the b16
take into account peak power vs driveabilty
h22, b20 really more suited for drag cars
wareas the b18, b16 being lighter more purposefull for circut use
in an ek hatch jdm itr would be the go so you still have a balanced car
Also don't forget that enginerring the H22 will be harder than a b16.
Parts will fit without having to be modified.
H22 is good but requires alot of work. It has greater potential than the b16 if you just wanna race it.
b16 good all rounder with fuel economy, decent power easy fitment with out much mods. Also if you have a civic you can generally get away with just a blueslip without the need for engineering certificate

since u can get a ek4 with b16 easy and cheap
but h22 is just so rare
well the best would still be a b18c or b20
but it will depends on your budget
well the motor will be for street as it will be daily driven i want a b16 cos it will be turbo'd in a few months after i put it in and also alot easier and cheaper to put in as i already have most of the money to do the conversion so ill be doing it prolly early to late feb. the b18 would cost abit more but i just dunno know if i wanna wait a bit longer to save to get a b18. my outcome is to have a stock b16 turbo'd making over 200whp but my only thing is that if i do a h22a it will cost more but be alot more torquey than the b16 and make more power then the b16 in stock form.help me decide please.
