i am unsure of the engine code it is the non vtec one obviously ummmm i was wondering has anyone done a port polish on one of these????
if so what power gains were made???
Has anyone put aftermarket cams in these engines even a regrind?

i have heard that a b18c/b16a (vtec head) has better flow qualitys.....but i am not sure if it is really the case. mabey someone can confirm it?

what would you assume a b16a head would be worth??? and how much modification would need to be done??

running a vtec head then that requires ecu??? and loom and the whole bit???
search my frend, this has been covered before. Many people opt to get a b16a head coz it has more flow than a b18c head and they put it on the b18b bottom end. this is called a "poor mans type R".
i believe how much $$$ threads are not allowed either.

and get some work done to head (porting), get aftermarket valve gear, and cams since your head will be off you can do all the work your self,
rather than 3months down the track when you HAVE THE NEED FOR MORE POWER and have to take the head off again.

for what a gsi cost and what ur planning to spend just doesnt make it worth all the effort and $$.
and dont forget that your bottom end is not designed to be revved to 8000+rpm like a b18c.
if you just want a vtec motor to fit into your Tegra then u can pick up a B16a fairly cheaply, it might be a bit slower than with the b18b but once u do a few mods to the b16a im sure itll go hard and youl have vtec
