EK4 and DC2R braking power

Guys,
Can anyone tell me if there is a huge difference between the EK4 and DC2R braking in terms of stopping power.

I'm finding the EK4 brakes are so weak compared to the DC2R? Or am I just expecting too much from the EK?

any opinions appreciated :)

Yeah at least the caliper and rotors are more bigger than ek4, and ITR got strong brake booster too. Can't expect too much for an ek4 if comparing to ITR, you may consider upgrading it to ITR brake system but you will need to change the front lower control arm i think and actually ITR caliper is quite heavy...

What's the current setup and what tyres are you running with the current setup?

i think ur expecting too much from the ek4
the level of braking from the ek4 is like the dc2 non type R
therefore its like comparing dc2 vti-r brakes with type R

afaik, the rear brakes of the ek4 are same as gli, so only the fronts are slighly bigger than normal civics

I'm still in the process of purchasing one so I wanted to be sure it wasn't the car that was the problem. I even complained to the owners it doesn't brake but its just me. At least now I know :rolleyes:

Are the front calipers and rotors in the EK4 larger than the GLi/CXi's at least?

why do you worry about this ?
if its all oem and nothings been changed then THAT brake setup that was put there by HONDA is sufficient.
ek4 or whatever.
once you increase your power/motor on that vehicle then do you need to worry about ur braking power.
you worry too much perhaps mate.

How can they suck and yet allow me to run on ABS all day all night around wakie.

the ITR set up is better but the ek4 is sufficient if its running an almost stock 1.6

Re trackday, i will need to fix these brakes beforehand as im not too confident with this brake setup. Hence the reason for all these questions.

agreed
i track in a full stock ek4 at wakefield
besides the fact that the abs coming on too easily (imo)
they are sufficient to do 2-3 hot laps continously

depending on what uve done to ur car
maybe upgrading the pads will be enough
if ur going hardcore then u can go the dc2r brakes

Please note i was only comparing it against the ITR brake feel.

Blitz what pads and fluid are u running? i assume DOT5 fluid?
