Seems like they think the Euro Auto drinks a fair bit of fuel? But not even mentioning the HID advantage, nor the fact that the Jetta's turbo increases insurance costs.
But generally I agree with most of what they said.

Wow, 2.0L turbo with DSG in a $39990 car. Too bad when you start comparing the manual base models of the Euro, Mazda6 and Jetta, you'll notice that at $32,990, the Jetta comes with only a 110kW 2.0L direct injection engine. :D
It's a shame that the Jetta doesn't come with leather seats as standard.
I can't believe they marked the Euro down for being thirsty. It's one of the most fuel efficient car I've driven for the power it produces. Maybe the auto version is a lot more thirsty than manual.
Also, what on earth are they talking about? They reckon ESP was a recent addition. Euro always came with VSA as standard.
from what I've heard, the auto is thirstier. 450kms to the tank in the city. The manual does 550m consistently.
And w.r.t. ESP, LOL!
It's JETTA, not jetty ..LOL
hehehe jetta Fast and Furious style, race it against an s2000 with an sr20det with more than $100,000 put into the car, for pinkslips.

Interesting read however they failed to mention european cars cost more to service and to insure, not really worth owning a european badged car for the sake of in oz unless your well off imo....
That being said i would own a E39 M5 if i could pony up the 100k for 2nd hand one :D

I manage to get 650-700 out of every tank in my manual. I live just off a highway so I use it alot where possible.
