195/60/14
CORRECTO MONDO MAN, just checked mine in the shed, thats what they are.Quote:

so whats the biggest i can go in wheel size and tyre and still for it to be legal? i dunno much abt this tyre stuff. 2 inchs bigger or something? what abt tyre.
my bros runnin 205/40/17's on his LS
only thing is that the load rating of his tyres are now 80
the recommended load rating is 85 for the car
as for the legal side of things, every state has their own rules and regulations when it comes down to modifying your car
oh yeah, forgot abt that. If someone could help me with the specs. its a syd car. i dunno what that load rating stuff is mate? sorry. :o
For a LS
Stock tyres - 195/60R14
Load Rating - 85 or 86 (depending on year, 1987-88 is 85 and 1988 above is 86)
Speed Rating - H
Overall Diameter = 590
To be legal it is best to stick within -1.5% to +2% of the orginal tyre's Overall Diameter.
Sizes like
215/40R17 O.D=604
or 205/40R17 O.D=596
or 225/35R17 O.D=589
Will be legal.
so im allowed up to 17inch rims provided i go along with those tyres? i fought we were only allowed 2 inches above standard?
thats what im runnig at the moment. :)Quote:

hehe, thats what alot of ppl are running on their LS's, but issit legal? hehe.. a friend of mine has had 17's on his LS for years now, and got his first defect for the wheels not too long ago. he thinks it was bcos of a dickhead cop tho..
I think the load rating sticker is necessary.
My old 17's had a load rating of 80, whilst the 2 new ones I bought have a load rating of 84 - identical specs; 205/40/17
My stock Michelin spare had a rating of 85, whilst my yoko 509's have a load rating of 86, all on stock rims.
Iiiiiiinteresting
i got no idea about load ratings.... or wat load rating mine is... im guessing it has something to do with the type of tyre u got ???
