for not much more you can get a genuine blitz off ebay locally
yeah very true..
thanks proecu
EDIT: mate i got a brand new in box HKS SSQV BOV replica made by Autotechnica that i'm selling.. pm me if interested..
on the topic though, nothing wrong with the fakies.. a BOV is a bov most of the time.
usually fakies have smaller diamter pistons or made of diff material.. ive seeen some plastic pistons, they wouldnt last very long IMO.
True, most of the copies out there will do the job fine , however they tend not to last aslong... Espcially when the boost is upped...
Beware of getting second hand BOV's. Especially from overseas, - I got a Apexi Twin chamber once off ebay thru japan, the piston inside ended up being seized and the bov never open/worked properly ( even after completely loosing/tightening the ajustment screw).
In my oppioning just get a Brand New Type 2 Turbosmart. $250 R.R.P from memory. Proven reliabilty u can trust.
My 2c...
DUDE trust me wen i say dont bother with the copies...
i own 2 turbo cars, one has the genuine HKS SSQV and the other a copy... the geniune after 2 years have not failed..
the copy 2months it's ****ed... dun waste ur money....
I've been through Turbosmart's factory and after seeing their set up I can't imagine why you'd pay extra for something "JDM" or the same for something "CDM" (C for China) that is a knock off. Turbosmart is made here, in their factory and is extremely good quality. As Aussies (regardless of where we're from) we should be proud of that.
i wouldnt buy cheap with these kind of parts
you dont want anything bad happening
andrew21 was correct why not just buy a new unit
with all the money you have spent on this setup are you going to skimp now?
there is NO way in hell id pay over 200 for a bov. ive had a turbosmart type 1, cost me $90 back in the day. now ive got a greddy type-s, cost me 150 shipped form the US. i mean, its a BOV. it just lets out compressed air? its not hard to do, its not rocket science.
Thanks lads,
im not being cheap as i will probably buy a genuine bov..
But i was just wondering on the quality of the just jap ones..
thanks for the info..
cheers
is autotechnica considered a cheap knock off?
