ROLLING GUARDS or ??????
Hey guys i've looked this up in search but need a bit more info..
I got 17 x 7 rimz on my civic sedan and they scrape the guards when i turn pretty much always at the front, but when going straight it seems to be fine.
Now im guessing its because of my super low king springs when they compress.
But i like the height as it is and was wondering what they actually do when they roll the guards and will it help? how much does it usually cost and will it effect the paint?
Also is their anything eles i can do? rather then get new springs? or raise? maybe stiffer springs?
thanks

Here we go again....
I had this exact same issue with my EK1 sedan - 17x7s on King super-lows. Scrubbed like mad on the front.
Turns out it was because my bump stops had disintegrated to having nothing left but dust. get a set of these (Trav [egsi] can sort you out) and you'll be sorted.
You definately need to roll the rear guards (if it is done properly, i.e. they heat the guard up before rolling, then the paint should not crack at all), but there is fvck all point of doing the fronts, and no need to raise the car either - saves you spending another $300+ on new springs.
I also folded back the ridge on the inside of the front wheel wells (it's the metal ridge under the splash guards), as it was cutting into my front tyres every time I hit a bump (before I fitted the bumpstops) and shredding the middle of my tyres.
Since I fitted the bumpstops, and folded the ridge back (pretty easy DIY - took about 1.5 hrs in total, including sound-deadening/rust-proofing) I've had absolutely zero scrubbage - even when I take sharp corners at stupidly fast speeds (emphasis on 'stupidly fast'. Speeding is bad, mmmmmkay kiddies).
Total cost for this: $60 for a set of 4 polyurethane super-low bump stops from Trav, and about 1.5hrs of DIY wrenchin'.
Problem solvered.

My fronts are fine...it's the rear on my car that scrubs....might have to look at pumping the guards, or at least folding up the horrible metal lip just inside the guard...

No need to pump. Fidly and pricey. Just roll the rears (which is folding that lip up), you'll be sorted.
