ok now people listen up...i just wanted to know
i have found a b16a engine for less than a grand. which is auto (that's probly why it's so cheap)
just wanted to know if i could take aout the auto box and use the manual box in my car for the b16a is that possible?
will it have any troubles?
-
I never knew the b16a came in auto
Are you sure? What car is it from?
-
yes, some EG SiR hatchies in Japan came with automatic trans ..
also some JDM delsol :?
-
um...so yeah is it possible to change it?
-
yes, i have seen it done.
the car i saw was a EG gli coupe converted to a B18cR JDM transplant.
-
Not sure if your manual box will bolt up to it though.
-
the auto is an inferior engine: you'd be better off sourcing a manual b16a, even though the price is attractive.
-
you would want the full shift linkage and everything for a manual B16A to make it work. Also, id think you will need a new ECU too.
-
danny, why don't u wait and get a whole front cut?
-
yeah might as well thanks anywayz guyz
-
def. the smart choice. Your in no rush just wait and get the manual half cut. Have everything you need cept mounts

An Auto b16a with a manual gbox is not equivalent to a manual b16a setup. THe auto b16a is indeed inferior, with less hp and single value springs on both cams. Avoid it!
