4 the next service
I am getting to the next service due very soon, which is for 110,000kms. i am thinking ab where should i go for it....Honda dealer or somewhere outside.
If i go outside, i may buy a mobile 10w30 (golden) for $80 and plus the other labour, comes together arnd $130 something i think.
If i go to dearler, i dont know how much now(maybe around $200?), but i think it's more easier and she can get all genuine lubricants.
Also i need the front two disk pads to be replaced, should i buy the pads myself and then ask the workshop to put on for me, or i just let them to buy and install? what is the better brand pads for VTiR and how much the will cost?
Thanks!

Where in Australia are you?
wow $80 for 10w30... Better be solid gold
Bendix pads will be around $70-$100 depending on where you get them
Have you had the cambelt changed lately? Because it's due as of 100,000km

brislbane as i went to the autobarn this aftnoon and they selling mobile 1 10w30 for $82/5L. too $$$$
The 100,000kms major service has been done by the previous owner and the he past me a receipt to show all works have been done at that time. it shows timing belt cost $80, water pump $130, major service $140, total labour $150. all together comes to $500. is $80 too cheap for a timing belt? or they just changed the driving belt?

anyone can help this out? thanks

Now, iam thinking to use the followings in this time service for my B16A.
1. Mobil 1 5w50 or Motul turbolight engine oil
2. K&N KNHP-1004 oil filter
3. K&N KN33-2104 Panel Air Filter, or upgrade to the K&N Typhoon Air Intake Systems (which one are you recommend?)
3. NGK BKR7E-11 spark plugs or iridium sparks
4. fuel filter (still no ideas)
5. bendix CT brake pads (just couldnot find the ultimate one on the market)
-
BKR7E-11?
shouldnt is be bkr6e11?
K&N oil filter is a bit pricey for what it is go OEM cheaper and good
Motul turbolite is o.k, either that or OEM
K&N panel filter are o.k but it depends on what you want?
Fuel filter go OEM but if that is a bit pricey go aftermarket RYCO etc etc
Bendix CT brake pads are o.k but find out what the price is on
bendix Advanced as it might be a couple of dollar more for better pad.
(bad side to Advance is more dust but the bite harder when warmed up)
btw $80 for a timing belt isnt too bad but prolly wasnt a OEM belt used,
maybe gates etc etc
but they prolly didnt use a kit for the timing belt change (seals and tensioner etc)
driving belts (alternator, p/s, aircon) are a lot cheaper then $80
hope this helps

it can be 5 or 6 heat range...
i think to have the iridium spark plugs lil hotter is better... so ive been told 5... but i run 6...
-
thanks.
the user manual says bkr6e-11 is for normal driving condition. bkr7e11 is for hot climates, or continuous high speed driving.
is motul turbolight a full syth oil?
i want some performance, so what air filter best to suit this?
iv checked with autobarn, they dont have the advance one, only ct
is the $80 timing belt safe for the engine?

I'd trust a $80 belt to keep my pants up.

if i use mobil 1 10w30(Golden) engine oil and BP Ultimate, can i just use valvoline or RYCO filters? coz most workshops are using them. are they good enough to work together with the good oil and last at least 10,000 kms?
The reason to think anout them is realy no idea where can i buy K&N filters in Brisbane and also is difficult to get the OEM one.

RYCO and valvoline, which one is better?
