I'm no expert but still think this statement is BS unless someone else can prove me wrong. If it is true...... then why the heck have engine builders for decades smoothed out the combustion chambers and polished them up so much that you could use them as mirrors for shaving in the morning?
My understanding with any engine is that you are trying to smooth out the entire flow of air comming into the engine, within the engine (cylinder), and air going out of the engine and reduce turbulence as much as possible.
Turbulence for required for proper mixing of air and fuel???
Sorry but I still think that the spray pattern your injectors produce at any given pulse is what really matters in mixing the air and fuel up.
