Im building a B20A (3rd Gen Prelude) engine for boost.
Recommended torque settings of the standard head bolts using 30wt oil lubricant is 22ft.lb first pass followed by 49ft.lb final pass.
APR recommend 80ft.lb for 30wt oil install for their studs.
So I am concerned about 2 things.
1. Stripping the Aluminium threads in the block
2. Distortion of the block and head.
I am using a copper gasket and the head is o-ringed.
Question:
What final torque would you recommend for this application and why?
It is perfectly safe to run with the 80ft.lb with 30wt oil. Use the ARP lube if they have supplied it, you will find you will only need 70ft.lb with the lube.

80ft/lb with 30wt oil = 63ft/lb with ARP lube.
I'll get some ARP lube and give it a go.

80-85ftlbs. in a 3-4 stage torque.
o-rings and copper headgasket should take care of the cylinder sealing for u.
best bet would be ditch the copper gasket as they are very hard to seal properly and use a factory 3 layer mls gasket with a Copper Wire - Oring....
If going a Copper gasket Use Stainless wire
Cheers guys the wire is SS. I will stick with the copper gasket and see how it goes. The Hylomar should help take care of the sealing details.
