I was just wondering if anyone knows the thickness of the dc2r rear sway bars? i'm looking at purchasing one, but is there a way to tell the difference between a vtir and type r rear sway bar? maybe by physical appearance? Thanks in advance!

Type R sways are thicker,
DC2R = 22mm thick, whereas the DC2 = 20mm
err...actually its 14mm Q for the DC2 rear sway also the mounting point on the DC2R sway is wider than the DC2, so it usually requires a little bit of drilling for new mounting position....
Look at this site for installation information:

Also some DC2R rear sways are 23mm
here's a link to an old thread with the info:

thanks for that =)
no worries. go the type r one. I've got one on...helped immensely...
yep,
DC2 = 14mm
DC2R AUDM & 96 JDM = 22mm
DC2R 98 JDM = 23mm
As above. DC2/DC4 = 14mm rear swaybar exactly the same as a EG Si/Vti civic.
The DC2R came with 22mm AUDM and 23mm 98+ JDM (correct me)
Also , if fitting a 22/23mm swaybar to your car , you NEED proper reinforcement such as a BEAKS kit or ASR brace.
If you fit (somehow) a larger swaybar to your car with standard mounting you WILL tear your subframe or worse in time.
There are a countless number guys having run non reinforced ITR swaybars for years without tearouts, you just can't be stupid with where and how you mount the D brackets. Obviously if you put them at the very edge of the subframe with little nuts you're going to tear it like paper. "NEED" and "WILL" is pure propaganda - unless you have an EK which have pissweak subframes made of foil.
