Hey, i just want to know whether it is neccessary to have a baffled sump when using semi's on track days.
I have heard it causes oil surge.
Could i get away with 1 track day without damaging my engine??
Cheers.

arnt semi's tyres?
yeah he means semi slicks not semi aroused.
its probably better, considering you will have more lateral g-force
Yes.. u should deffenetly get a baffled sump.. i have
purchased myself a baffled sump for when i put semi's on..
u need it as ull be pulling alot more g's around the corners coz of the grip given by the semi's... without baffling oil will all go 2 the back of the engine and ur engine will seize up and ull be farked... :(
so yer, better be safe then sorry... its a worth wile mod.. plus not like it will make much difference 2 daily driving eather...
hope this helped..
Yes, I think its a good idea when moving up to semis. As reasons said.
havernt heard of a honda having this problem b4
DC2R has slight baffling stock.. but not enough for semi's or better.. IMO.. why risk it...
or if u do go with semi's and fark ur engine.. dont complain on ozhonda :p hehehehe
Hmmm....50/50 on this topic.
IMO Type R doesn't need additional baffle sump.
We've spun a bearing on our R due to poor assembling and clearence from the pevious rebuild. We were running semi's. As long as the motor is healthy it should be fine.
just put one in as added security for your engine.
better be safe than sorry
The funny thing is that, i have heard about a car having oil starvation to the head becuase of it too.. ;) just my 2 cents (oil not returning as easily.. ) this is especially true when u already have the OEM baffle plate.
The oil gets pushed to the side, then the lower plate blocks the oil come coming from the sides... then KABOOOM..
just a theory for discussion...
Do what u feel is right.. not he say she say stuff.....
*PS. I am not against it.. i would get one if i didnt have to remove my headers.
