CXi brakes conversion
Just people who know or have done this, i've got the ek4 caliper and rotors, problem is my knuckle cant fit the caliper, being a cxi im assuming, so now i want to know what i can do BESIDES machining the caliper (b/c im thinking of upgrading brakes again later. correct me if im wrong) and so if i change the knuckle can i use the one off the vti sedan and is it a simple swap knuckle or am i looking at a lot more things to change? thanks
-
u will need the ek4/eg6/dc2 hub and arm for the fronts
and as for the rears u can use any rear disc hub and arm from most civics and tegs!!
-
ok thanks so i will need the hub too? and say later on if i went wilwood or spoon what would i need or can i use my existing hub and arm then? and brake kits (spoon/wilwood) dont come with these parts do they :( inregardless im going to have to get them?
-
You can use the later EK1 knuckle too - all sedan and later hatch had same 262mm front brakes and knuckle as EG6/DC2/EK4.
-
so which model specifically? mines a 98 model so i need something 99-00? from sedan or coupe will do right?
-
i believe all EK1 sedan had the correct knuckle , and 99+ EK1 hatch did too.
-
My 98 GL hatch has 262mm front brakes.
Might open up your potential donors a bit.
You might also consider the fastbrakes.com setup.

Now that USPS doesn't do surface post, shipping is gonna hurt for some heavy rotors.
Nick.

hi there, i would like to ask if i want to change a cxi to a 5 stud
do i change the brakes? what options are there?
-
You will need the complete brake setup from a 5 stud, Dc2 and Ek9 will fit. Pretty straight forward swap.
-
cant u just change the hubs,
-
normally how much for labour and parts?
