Anyone know how to remove the tin plate on the back of the brakes...supposed to be some guard for something. Dunno what as not other car I have had had this. Besides would help cooling with them off.

on the front brakes as well? i do not think there will be one on the fron brakes..
But it is there for a reason, i personally won't touch any safety equipments on the car except you have well knowledge about what you doing...
i think u can break the tab that holding it on.
dont remember exactly on the hondas but on my previous car toyota.
i swapped the standard breaks for a larger combo. hence that dust metal thing had to go.
correct me if im wrong but it serves no real purpose besides shielding dust.
i just broke the tabs that were holding it together.
it's for anti-squeak.. generally don't need them as good pads have good backing plates
you have to remove the hub from the wheel bearing to get them off. then there is a few bolts holding them on.
