I am thinking of getting extended wattage yellow h4 globes for my EG in non genuine headlights.
Who runs higher wattage bulbs and how much brighter are they? Is the extra heat they produce a problem or have you had no troubles? does it run fine on stock wiring?
I also want to get the yellow tinted ones. does anyone else have these? what are the opinions on yellow headlights (not fogs)?

I was gonna get em....
their VERY good for short range and lighting the road for bad weather/constantly foggy areas... but they completely eliminate the blue spectrum and above therefore not so great long range....
because the yellow tint eliminated a crapload of the colour spectrum, pretty much everything above 3300k.. it makes up for intensity with increased wattage....
Oh and their not road legal and are considered more unroadworthy than blu-ish xenons... these things are farking bright.. like they look like intense foglights from afar....
hid yellow 3300k's are available even 2500k's.. i wanted to do this but instead i just ordered a cap to cover my globe thats yellow so it gives it the yellow effect.. $5 U.S from ebay.com =) or if not try some american honda forums.. they love jdm.
your chances are better if u get the HID. Y? cos they are more reliable that the yellow caps as i used to use the caps and the colour i wanted was not right so i opt for the HID option which is much better for you vision and it makes the car look good.
yeah i am considering 90/100w h4 yellow tinted ones from US. any one have these in particular?
no.. but a mate has them and only puts em on when he does late night mountain drives or during foggy weather... hence my first post.Quote:

It won't make your lights BRIGHTER.
Maybe slightly, it'll piss everyone off and you will burn your wiring as the lights try and draw 100w from wiring designed for 55w.
It'll also melt your light cluster.
Goodluck. Don't know why you want yellow lights. You won't be able to see sh*t in normal conditions. There is a reason Honda don't make em OEM.
^^^yah he's right... and since you have an EG your H4 plugs will melt as did mine.. had to get the High Temp NARVA replacement ones. If you want superior visibility with Halogens.. look into the Philips X-Treme +80% or the OSRAM Nightbreaker +90%

it will increase light intensity and visibility at close range at a massive cost to your long range + high beam.
Take this scenario (RAIN & wet road):
Yellow (3300k or less): can clearly light the road in front of you due to the sheer amount of yellow and lack of any spectrum above blur
OEM (~3700k): is a good balance for short/long range
White/Blue (~5200k+): are the best option ONLY IF it's HID. It's because to achieve these on halogens, they have to put a blue coating which removes all the yellower spectrums making it useless for short range, and hence why you can't really see them on wet road. because the general intensity is lowered due to filtering, they HAVE to make up for it with increased wattage.... same applies for the yellow filter ones just opposite effect...
i already have narva artic blue ones just want more light mainly and better wet visbility as a second. might just stick with mine. they are 4000k great for night with refelective signs and road markings but shocking in the wet! might invest in yellow jdm fogs instead. is there a bit higher wattage like 70w or anything or only 55 and 100w?
