welding muffler inlet

just wondering how long does the inlet needs to be for it to be welded into my car...

brand new mufflers are pretty much like that. I'd be kinda worried about the rust, try grinding it off.

They just weld the pipe to the flat bit

well i havent got it yet but if say i grind off all the rust it should work fine?

just like the look of the oval bodied muffler

Yeah they can weld straight to the body. I'd be worried about if that rust has gotten inside.
