agreed.
Also think of the position you are pulling the bar from... it can help make a difference.
I used a screwdriver in my flywheel to stop the engine turning over. but i had no trans on the engine.
air tools would help if you had them
Just pay someone qualify to do the job..
simple job - keep shit out of the engine unless its an engine alone - but then you could even lock off the fly wheel to stop it from moving..
if you still have the box on the engine and its still in a wroking car here is what you do...
put it in gear. get someone to hop on the breaks. break the nut.
I really struggled to get mine off.. I tried the long pipe/breaker bar and had no luck even after locking the engine and stopping it from turning (by removing started motor) I tried using regular rattle guns but mine was too tight. I ended up using a 3/4" rattle gun and it struggled for a bit but got it off in the end.
use the long pole to bash the breaker bar theres no need lock the engine just turn it till you get to the compression stroke then give it a good whack with the pole and it should break loose by the shock done it a couple of times works a treat got it of the forum there a diy somewhere with a video
This may help: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32257
Good video.....but if you use the rattle gun in short bursts,as apposed to just holding the trigger(as in video)you get more torque from the gun as the hammers are working at thier maximum. You will proberbly find that the gun would of loosened the bolt by itself using this method.
Buy a pulley holder
yep use the honda pulley holder and another breaker bar to crack the nut...
