d series gearbox

hey guys my gear box is playing up
i have a d16y1 motor ...
just wondering if i could replace it with another d series gearbox or does it need to be for the d16y1 ?

any help or advice would be appreciated .

yer any d series motor should do it, iam pretty sure,

atm my civic d16y1 does not go into reverse smoothly, usually crunches.

seems us d16y1 people have weak gbox's!!!!!!!!!! mines fudged up the ass 2!!!!!! and its really annoying, apparently it costs 1400 for a rebuild with new clutch, and 1000 for a 2nd hand 1 installed... fudge that lol car only cost me 5 grand im not paying that much juts for the gbox!

dude everyone's d-series gearbox crunches going into reverse, just put it in a forward gear until the car goes back down to idle, then change it into reverse. and its like $400-$500 for a new gearbox, considering a full d16y1 engine+box is like $1100

wat do u mean a 'new' gearbox? the cars 14 years old, how'd u find a new gbox for it :confused:

i can't realli shift into 3rd gear properly ...
and my seconds is pops out when i turn hard to the right .... lol

i just want to be able to shift into third normally AHHA
and no my reverse doesnt crunch onli if ur moving forward as ur put it in reverse

Mine usually crunches into reverse

Thats normal if ya don't wait for the lower RPMs

went to sumo's they didnt hav it
