hey guys i just recently bought a type r 99' done about 170,000 ks
when i hit v-tec i hear the scream but i dont feel a boost in power or torque i was just wondering if its coz of the high mileage??

I would be checking if the High cam is actually engaging.
if the high cam wasnt engaged would the vtec still scream??
Clean the vtec solenoid mesh screen.
Always a good start and with high kms its probably filthy.
Also oil change/filter and sparkplugs if you haven't already done it.
Its probably A ok. Can you hear it cross over? Do you feel an increase in pull?
It definatly opens up, but theres no "sudden boost in power"
Vtec has a bad sterotype.
If your cam isn't changing, she'll be screaming, screaming for help. Take it easy and get it checked out before you break something.Quote:
