cant use the stock one, wont really need a heat shield as its on the rear. maybe wrap them up is your best option
i read somewhere that the heat shield protects wiring to burn and helps dissipate hot air or something..
wrap them with what?
cheers
IMO you are driving through and air is going from front to rear which your headers are at the rear of your bay, hot air would usually just fly across to the rear.
if you are using an open filter like a knn typhoon then it may impact.
wrap them up with a heat wrap, can buy from autobarn etc..

sweet, didnt know they existed, thanks dude
Just be advised that heat wrapping your header will make it deteriorate faster.
because the heat is amplified? dam, so i should get a heat shield?
what intake system do you have?
i wouldnt worry about a heat shield
i've got injen cai, so thats ok in that regard
just paranoid abt the excess heat melting wires and suff. should be rght yeah? i dont plan to take it to track
any wires around the exhuast/engine are going to be heat wrapped. So unless they are resting on the actual exhuast you won't have any problems.
I know a couple of people who have tracked with aftermarket headers with no heat shield and these guys have had no problems with melting wires. You will be fine without a heat shield, especially if your keeping it to just street driving.
sweet, thanks for the confirmation boys
