due to the left side low beam is gone last nite and i'm thinking of 4300k/5000k HID but not sure where should i mount the ballast. understand some Odyssey owners already installed HID, wondering where should the ballasts be mounted in yr RB1 and how many ks for yr HID.
you can mount the ballast right on the side but becareful with the passenger side one make sure you put the bonnet rod holder down first then mark it otherwise the ballast might hit the rod when you want to close the bonnet .........
I took the front bumper bar off. and stick the ballaster underneath the headlight assembly.
this is what i did also, that way it looks factory, as for k, im pretty sure theyre 6000k, very good brightnessQuote:

tks guys! am also thinking underneath the headlight.... btw, how to stick underneath, using double side tape? does the ballaster heat up while on and need some cooler area?

Hey Aus looks like we spent the day doing the same thing.... installing HID!
My right bulb also had trouble locking into place, in the end used a small no 8 spanner to get some liverage and twist the bulb in.
I then spent 2 hrs trying to find a place to mount the ballast... wanted to find some place that I could bolt to the frame of the car... in the end got fed up and just used double sided tape and cable ties to secure it under the headlight housing, not sure if it is the correct way.
In the end all seems to be working fine for now
another 3 hrs this morning and i'm fxxked. still cannot fit the bulb in and believe the taps on bulb are bigger than the housing. need modification on HID bulb then.
luckily installed the Stebel Magnum horns when front bumper off and sounds like a truck now, no more beep, beep, beep. a bit pain for the wiring with extra fuse and relay (want to do it safe) but happy with the job.
can you please make sure the rubber of the old bulb is not left in the housing, because if the old rubber still there you wont be able to fit the new one in, I'm very sure you don't need to modify the HID bulb if they are the right size H11 ............Quote:

thats sxxks as thought its an easy job for HID installation but turned up its pain at the back side :(
