Anyone experience GT3071r v GT3076r

Hi Guys,

As some of you know my turbo project has begun, slowly at least, im about to purchase the turbo for my 'kit' running of a t3 spoolin mini ram manifold tial 44mm gated (pictured in other thread) now im torn b/w these two trubos. Motor will be fully built, 83mm, 9.5-1cr, built head bla bla.

Has anyone got any REAL advice between the GT3071r t3 .82 and the GT3076r .83 (aka gt30)? Aim is some nice midrange with about 400'swhp peak

Searched heaps and heaps on H-T, but its all swish wash crap talk.

I had to make the same decission not long ago.

I ended up going with the 3076 and tial .63 rear.

You will make that power(400) with the .63 and it will have more midrange than the .82.

go the 3076 with .82 rear

^how is part throttle and transition boost with the 76 and what rpm are you getting full boost?

There are some .63 and .82 graphs.

the same tuner so you can rule out different dynos or operators. In other words even if the figures are overstated you can still judge how boost comes on and where torque peak is at.

The 3076 with either a .63 or .82 will make the power regardless. The different rear will change where in the revs it makes the torque and hp.

thanks champ^, i've been looking at heaps of graphs off evans tuning too, the ones you listed are very similar to myu build, ive just got to remember that i cant fit a too big turbo due to the way i have my manifold and wanting to try run a full radiator, ill also have a very tight oil return therefore also restricting what i can run as it will sit low to the pan. We shall see how this goes, if its all well have a bit of fun in it, practise, then wack on a top mount and and gt40 down the track, atm looks like ill order the gt3076 in a .82, and should be sweet for a while :) rep 4 your efforts too...

76 with a .63 if its a street car.

71R reacts really badly on d/b-series.

what about a 35r - its the physical size of the turbo bigger then the .82 3076? only reason i ask is i can actually get it cheaper than a 3076 :)

35R is useless on the street. no midrange.

yeh, car will hardly be driven on the street. what potential has the 30r in a .82 got power wise and 1/4 mile wise. i want around 500 to 9-9.5rpm and run 10.5-10.7s

spoke to phil who made my manifold, said i prolly wont be able to fit a full rad with the 35r, 30 yes. but from some graphs i see the 30r starts to die up top to what i want to rev to.

hmmmm it sounds like a 35r will suit me better but if a gt30r can get me to run mid 10's then i think it would suffice whilst also enjoying some midrange.

you said you wanted mid-range? Did you not? If not, just go with a 40R. Less boost, more power. If its a track car u want.
