that weird chirping noise?
There is a rhythm sound like a music beat, then there is a higher pitched sound, and finally, your engine has a diesel-like sound which could be the tappets needing adjustment.
there is a special procedure for setting the tention on the timing belt to get rid of that noise.
If there is a tensioner pully thats old - that might be it
That sounds like it John since the noise started after the belts were taken off and on.
You wouldn't happen to have a DIY vid on this would you?

The 'special' procedure was it made for eliminating the belt noise, or for correctly fitting / tensioning the timing belt? If you have a link, wouldnt mind having a lookQuote:

- remove rocer cover, and timing belt covers
- monitor the engine temp via ECT so KOEO

- when ect temp reached soemthing like 82deg C then you back off the tentioner and then tighten the tentioner bolt

then put the timing belt covers back on and your right to go
