Hi mate!
If there were meant to be holes drilled to accomodate the pods, you'll need to take the rear bar off and check on the inside. If there are OEM holes, they will be marked by a small circle approx 7mm in diameter, with slightly raised 'pimples' on the surface, and a larger dot exactly at the centre.
They're very hard to spot, might even be worth getting a little metho and wiping the black grime away from the area.
Cheers! Dan.
cheers mate, i have the bar off, and i cleaned as best i could with cloth and water and no marks or circles seem to be on the bar on the bar..............
i will use metho tomorrow and check again
thanks
i also couldnt find the dimples on the rear bar..
im guessing yours is original?
yeh man...............i was out there for 1 hour with metho on the inside of the bar trying to find circles and dimples and crap.......lol
i just rang my mate at honda for a template that the dealers use to install....
i'll let you guys know how i go............
yeh i have original dc2r rear bar and oem rear pods...........
will see what happens
hey tom, where did u get the oem rear pods from? able to get more :D
Thats annoying, I would have thought there might be some marks for the holes.
When I was working on my EK, I got a EK9 rear lip and wondered for a little while about how I was going to get the holes to be accurate enough so that the lip sits snug against the bar - then on closer inspection after a little wipe-down on the inside of a stocko-standard EK1 rear bar, I found the markers for the holes!
Cheers, D.
yeh thanks mate.........i assumed the same, maybe i'm just blind................
but no need to rub it in that urs was so easy........lol.......jks
ill check the facelift bars i got a home and see if theres any holes of nipples on the inside for ya
