EK1 aircon to fit EK4?

I was told by a mechanic that an EK4 aircon will fit my EK1. so i supposed they are interchangeable?

if I get an EK1 aircon, and then do a b16 or b18 conversion later on will it fit?

Yes an EK4 aircon should fit in an EK1, do you know specifically the brand of the compressor, matsushita,sanden etc?
Yes it will fit however you will need to get brackets e.g. Hasport AC bracket
